1961 Scout-O-Rama

The Tamet Lodge Ritual Team was an annual fixture at the Crescent Bay Area Council Scout-O-Ramas beginning in 1955.
The Tamet Indian Village was a very popular attraction among the Scouts, Cubs and Public attendees. Indian dancing shows were scheduled throughout the weekend which drew large audiences every year.
This group of candid snapshots gives the flavor of the Indian Village during "down time" between dance shows.

Mike Robbins Photography
Camp Wolverton 1962-71

Tamet Lodge Vigil Honor member Mike Robbins was involved as staff and director at Camp Wolverton for over fifty years.
He also happens to be an exceptional photographer. During the1960's and early1970's, Mike photo-documented many of the Order of the Arrow calling-out ceremonies conducted weekly during the summer sessions at Camp Wolverton. OA members of the Camp Wolverton staff made up the ritual team at Wolverton during the summer. Camp Emerald Bay had a similar ritual team.
The color images shown below are digitized from original Kodachrome slides (excerpt where noted), and are used with permission from Mike Robbins. See more Mike Robbins photography at  wolvertonstaff.org  (clicking takes you away from this site)

For the campers around the fire, blazing torches, drum beats and the nighttime mountain air in the High Sierra create a stunning memory that few will ever forget.
